friends help: I feel like my parents don’t know me. - Help.com

I feel like my parents don’t know me.

They see me everyday but i never feel like i can open myself up and talk to them. i don’t think they really know who i am. Me and my friend were talking about this and she says i should come up with a list of wuestions to ask them to see if they know me. So if anyone can help me come up with idea’s for questions it would be appreciated?

I think you will have to talk to them, sooner or later. Don’t make that questionary. Just talk to them. The problem from what I can see is not your parents. You said: I feel like I never can open myself up and talk to them. Well, it is time. You do your part and talk, is by talking how people get to know each other.

becareful its risky, not trrying to put you down but dont want you to go in blind it may cause more tension than relief. best luck to you

I have the same situation…I’ve changed a lot in the past year and I feel like my parents have gone from looking at me as the youngest of the family to someone who is capable of a lot more than they thought.
