So I was drinking last night…

I’m 16, I had 5 standard drinks in total, and after my 5th my heart starting beating at around 120 times per minute… any thoughts? I got kinda worried and went to lie down.

it happens. one of my friends believed she couldnt breathe one time. i had to sit with her and tell her breathing was natural that nothing was wrong with her.

Oh I could breathe fine, I was just wondering what caused it though. I’m fairly fit and my heart does beat that fast even after strenuous exercise.

Alcohol can be a stimulant and a depressant, if you at times drink it quickly, it can give you a rush which yes does up your pulse rate.

i wouldnt worry about it. after 9 shots i have trouble standing up, a fast heart beat would be more preferable =]

Alcohol is a duretic which means that it will dehydrate you. When you get dehydrated and when you are in a hot, crowded room (nightclub?) your body will overheat causing your pulse rate to quicken, sweating etc…

Did you feel like you were overheating at all?
