i need to know how to put a password on my computer

before it boots so that no one will have access to it while im not at home

It sounds like you’re talking about a BIOS password

That will restrict people from accessing the BIOS and making changes. Is that what you want?

Yes but I think she means so people cant even boot up windows. I don’t think she means a password that stops people entering the BIOS

it says, before it boots, so they mean bios password. savest of all!

Go into the bios and set up the password in the security section set it to ask for password at boot. This will keep people out of your system totally. Remember to wright it down so you don’t forget it. If you know what your doing that one is easy to get around make sure that you also setup a password for your OS also. Hope this helps :-)
