Can this world prosper if everyone were rich/wealthy or do we have to have poor people in order to have balance?
I mean picture if everyone had some access to a great amount of money i think this world would be so much better off. But then there are people who believe there should be some at the top and some at the bottom for society to strive

If everyone were rich then inflation would occur and there’d be poor people again.
For example, think of what a dollar could buy in 1900, as opposed to today. That’s because the value of money decreases as more people have access to it.
Some rich and wealthy people like to donate to charities, to the poor and needy, they do great work for humanity….what would happen to these good people then?
Well we can be good people by being good parents and taking care of the environment we live in. Ok put it like this what if everyone had enough money to survive? Would this world be better off then?
i think people fail to see the difference between poor and deprived. A poor person can live a fantastic life, they just have to live in cheaper places and have cheaper things. The same with rich people, you can have rich people who abuse their ‘power’ and do stupid things but there are also those that live just like mid wealth people and are really generous…
but if your talking about the actual mechanics of the world then there will always be differences between these things, just like there are some trees taller than others. It wouldnt be natural to have everyone earning the same things, it would stagnate and nothing would change, nothing would work becuase everyone would be able to aford the same things so companies would go in and out of buisness literally over night.
I agree that the gradient between rich and poor is too high, people are suffering which is not what being part of the human race is about, but i also think that money is most definatly not everything. A person can survive without money but not without the environment and it is the planet that we have to share not wealth…
Yeah but imagine either a neverending source of money that everyone has access to. There wouldn’t be thieves, kidnappers, murderers or any crimes related to money, which represent the most percentage of crimes anyhow. The world would be a much safer place. However, I’m not sure wheather everyone would be happy with so much money…

that would definatly not work, money would be worthless, there would be things that were worth more than money because everyone can get money for free so nobody would want any from anyone else…
Exactly. Money really is worthless- we don’t need it to survive. If there were a never ending stream of money, people would start trading for food, water, and shelter- stuff we do need to survive, instead of using money to pay for it. Money is just easier to work with because things can have a set price- for example a loaf of bread may be $3, but if we all had a constant inflow of cash, a loaf of bread would be worth a dozen eggs or a gallon of water. Because not everyone may have a dozen eggs to trade for the bread (thus creating a bartering system), we use money as an in-between.

yea, it just enables trade across the world, of course gold is the universal currency but that can be bought so money is second in line…
I said that assuming that money would be still the way of getting stuff. I think stuff should be just shared you know? It’s not a poor guy’s fault that he was born to poor parents so why not cut him some slack?
poor people can make it up with hard work… just like rich people can fall down with bad decisions. I don’t know where you live, but in america if anyone does very well in a public school they can get full scholarships to some excellent colleges, and from there get a great job.
theres nothing wrong with working for a living ,we are middle class we have a lot of friends that are at poverty level, they think of it like this, theres nothing wrong with being poor and proud, good values, and theses freinds are very honest and hard working, yhey dont ask the state or goverment for help
I guess it was a good system in the beginning, but now it needs to be reformed, to go back to something clearcut. For example: interest is what gives it a monstrous life of its own, that will have to go.
