screen help: I’ve downloaded Gimp 2.6 for Windows and am trying to add a little text to a picture i’ve created. - Help.com

I’ve downloaded Gimp 2.6 for Windows and am trying to add a little text to a picture i’ve created.

The picture is the background layer. The text i want to add I would like added to a part of the pic that is rotated and scaled. Think of a Cell phone screen that’s held at an angle. I want to put the text into that screen. Problem is, when I transform the text, it comes out blurry and/or jagged. I’ve tried creating it via ‘text from path’ but I can’t select only the text to transform, I end up transforming the entire image which I don’t want to do. Any help available for this? I’ve found some at GimpDome.com, but it doesn’t work for what I’m trying to do.
