There are several forms of AVI files, and some are just plain virusses, (especially if you use the limewire network)
consider this first! how large is it? (in Kb)

window media player can play WMV format,you can use a converter to convert it to a window media player friendly format, such as WMV. I recommend you uSeesoft Total Video Converter which can convert video file between any video format.
