Between this and that post I did the other day… it’s not looking good.

It isn’t the amount of replies that matters. The quallitty is what counts.
The website has changed out of all proportion to what it used to be. The type of questions in gerneral have changed. People dont respond how they used to. they feel most of the time that a lot of the posts aren’t worth responding to.
The way it is run is different. The attitude to it’s users has changed for the worse.
A great majority of former users have left in disgust at some of the behaviour on here.
Change is inevitable, if one can live with the changes they stay if they cant they leave. But it is nowhere near what it used to be like.
I will not expand on what I have written. You will never understand the differences if you dont and cant see them already.

I find that the friends you make, the ones you talk with regularly, are sometimes not the people who are online at the time, so it seems like the friends you invite don’t respond. It goes in cycles. Sometimes when I’m on it’s a constant conversation, and sometimes I see few if any names I recognize. The amount of anons can be discouraging if you need a friendly face (av).

It makes a huge difference. Once you are 18, it seems you need some sort of skill or friend in the right place to get a job.

There are “day” people and “night” people. I switch back and forth sometimes. Night’s more fun. :P

Its so true. I am half way through a degree I am deferring to get a job, but it is so hard to find a job who will let me do part time correspondence university which means I wouldnt have to go anywhere until September next year, and I dont want to join the army.

I very much like some of the newer users. Are we welcoming enough? People will come and go because life is like that. New friends can give us a new perspective and improve the site. Maybe some of those anonymous users could be persuaded to come to the party. Why don’t we make a point of inviting them to join in. The more, the merrier.

You are right. We can’t replace friends, but new friends can be valuable, too. Over my lifetime, many friends have gone away. It has not always been so easy to communicate. Snail mail did not offer Spell Check, and some friends were not great writers. Phone calls used to be expensive. Now at least we can keep in touch with each other, if we choose to do so.
