Internet help: When I try to log on to AOL, I get the following message: “The operation could not be completed due to low memory or hard drive space’. - Help.com

When I try to log on to AOL, I get the following message: “The operation could not be completed due to low memory or hard drive space’.

Please close one or more windows, then try again’. When I try to close that message, I get the following message: “An AOL error occurred. Please try again later”. I am using a Dell PC with 2mb of memory and 400gb of disc, of which only about 25% is utilized. I can use both MIE and Mozilla without any problems. I tried to download the latest AOL version over the internet but in the middle of the installation, it stopped and I got the above messages again. Anyone got any suggestions?

Are you looking for answers about problems with your AOL service?

I’d like to recommend that you ask AOL directly since they are best suited to help you.

For AOL support, you can visit the AOL support site or even call them at an AOL toll free number.

I had the same problem and it was driving me crazy. It turns out this is a DEP problem. In XP Go into control panel/system/advanced/performance/Data execution prevention. Check the box which says turn on DEP for essential windows programs and services only and ok your way out..then restart..
In vista, open CMD prompt in administrator mode (this is important). Type bcdedit.exe /set {current} nx AlwaysOff and ok out/restart. Change to AlwaysOn if you want to switch it back on.
