The school chaperones are not going to leave you there alone. Believe me, they know their jobs depend on NOT losing kids. They will count very carefully. On top of that, you will wear your watch and take care to get to the designated meeting places at the designated times. It’s not that hard. Often on such journeys, the chaperones even assign a “buddy” to look after you. In other words, Jane makes sure that Audrey is there and Audrey makes sure that Sara is there and Sara makes sure that Beth is there and Beth makes sure that Jane is there.

The fact that your closest friends are not on the trip is not ALL bad; think of it as an opportunity to get to know some other folks better, and to share some bonding experiences and laughs with them. Who knows? You might come home with some NEW friends.

Have fun!

Ask lots of questions and listen to what they say then ask more questions. Keep it friendly. You’ll find stuff you have in common. Don’t forget to offer your own ideas and experiences from time to time, but listen to what they have to tell you and what their opinions are on things.
