Download & install spybot, run it and enable immunization and also run a scan. And then stop using IE forever.

Spybot can really, really slow down your computer.

Yeah if you keep it on, as is true with all similar software. You should uninstall after you’ve scanned.

Backup your data, reformat the hard drive, reinstall your OS and put Norton Antivirus on there and be careful what you do.

If your PC seems like its slowing down and having a hard time surfing the web or just doesn’t seem right. If you think that you have a virus or bug. You need to clean it out first to find out what’s causing the problems. Here’s a few programs that I use regularly and they take very little time and skill to run.
You should go to http://download.com and get these programs.
AD WARE AND SPY WARE REMOVERS:
AD-Aware: http://www.download.com/3120-20_4.htm…
Spybot search and destroy: http://www.download.com/Spybot-Search…
CCleaner: http://www.download.com/CCleaner/3000…
If you don’t have an Antivirus program you can use.
Avast: http://www.download.com/Avast-Home-Ed…
or AVG: http://www.download.com/AVG-Anti-Viru…
and for your firewall a good program is
Zone Alarm: http://www.download.com/ZoneAlarm-Fir…
Install these programs and run them regularly. This will keep your system clean and running properly. These programs are free and Download.com is a part of CNET (the site that your posting on right now). Hope this helps :-)

The security software that people have mentioned above is very helpful. However, it also matter what operating system your computer is running. I assume you are running Windows of some kind (because you are having problems), but you haven’t said what kind. Depending on whether you have Windows XP, Vista, 2000, or some other, older version there might be other steps you can take to fix your situation.

Can you provide more information?

I have windows xp. Every time I get onto my internet, pop up adds come up. Then all of a sudden I couldn’t get onto my email or even onto help, I have fixed that portion of the problem so far, but I am still getting pop ups. I called customer service for xp but he just had me delete a whole bunch of junk but I still kept getting pop ups.
Sorry for such the late reply, for I havent been able to get on. Hence the computer problems
