what does it mean…

if you’re talking to a friend and a guy nearby tells you to shut up? i was talking to my friend during class, and a guy who sits at the next table over told me to shut up. i just ignored him.

Remember she said she was talking “during class.” So she might have been making it hard for other students to hear what the teacher was saying. I would have done what the guy said and shut up. Then I would have waited to talk to my friend after the class so I would not be interrupting the class any more!

I did this yesterday. This girl was talking and being so obnoxious for such a long time that I couldn’t hear the teacher. It was disrespectful and I turned to her and said “UMM DO YOU MIND?” and like 3 others said THANK YOU.

That’s different. If it’s a class where you’re allowed to talk, and someone tells you to shut up, it’s just rude.

I agree. It’s very different. My class is a lecture style.
