life help: I need some help with my job and moving out. - Help.com

I need some help with my job and moving out.

So there’s this new job that I recently got. Its an incoming call center, and I’ve only been working there for a month. I am already sick of it. All I do is sit in a little partial cubicle and answer upset customer phone calls all day. Its not active and its very boring, I can’t even think for myself working here, and when january comes i’m getting kicked out of my house. I don’t know what to do, i’m so unhappy with where i’m at right now..

dude, call centers suck! It takes a hell of a person to deal with 8 to 10 hours of negativity a day while working and maintaining a positive outlook on life.

Heres the part you will hate. You need a job to support yourself. Dont leave this job until you have another job to go to!

See if theres a buliten board at work and post “room mates wanted.” See what happens.

Oh I worked in a call centre once, so sucky, so you start by looking around for other possibly jobs, maybe just in admin still boring but a little less so, then think about what you really want to do and start thinking about small steps to get thenere and I mean really small, I was 17 when I worked in a call centre fresh out of school, slowly I have started to improve my situation so far it’s taken a good 8 years to get myself into a better situation and I anticipate another life time before I reach my goal, although I’m always setting new ones as I go with small targets, you wil feel so much better if you have something to aim for

I think working at a call center can be fun if you just pretend it’s someone you know well and just get in a chatty mood. I used to do that work and it was boring but not so bad.
