number help: Aspire 5610 my keyboard is locked the letters with numbers appears. - Help.com

Aspire 5610 my keyboard is locked the letters with numbers appears.

For example, I type the letter “L” but instead the number “3″ will appeared. I can only type this by press holding the tab “Fn”.
Please help.

You just need to find the “num lk” key and press it to release the number lock.

Hi Edie,
I tried to press the “numLk” key but it only maximized and minimized a window and still the numbers for the letters U4,I5, O6, P-,J1,K2, L3, etc…

Please help.

eric, do you have a users manual? those numbers are for the calculator, I believe. I am not familiar with the Aspire, but I think that somehow you have to disengage the calculator function.That is what the “Fn” button is. A function key.
LOL I may LOVE computers, but I am just about the most computer illiterate person ever. But I really would like to try to get you through this! Going to check online.
If you get it fixed before I get back, please let me know what it was. Edie

Hi Edie,
I really appreciate your help and thank you very much for replying to me and looking to some ways on how can i resolve my problem. As of now i stll can’t find the way how i can unlocked this keyboard. I tried rebooting many times but still its locked. But you know I noticed that in my other account in the acer aspire 5610, it is not lock and i can type normally. Anyways, please help me and i thank you very much.

My problem is already resolved by the help of the Acer email techsupport, by pressing the keys “Fn” then “NumLk”.
