I’d say once they move out/start sending cards themselves. I think my mum still signs my name (and my dad’s and sometimes the dog’s too) on all of the cards she sends. She sends cards to just about everyone she knows and although I’ve never met them I suppose they would know of my existance so I’m included in the family. I suppose you could just write “Love from The [surname]s”!
