school help: I’ve been going to school for the past 5 years. - Help.com

I’ve been going to school for the past 5 years.

I’ve worked my *** off and seen almost every one I care about die. I’m currently failing my classes and am at risk for academic disqualification. I’ve given up everything to try and get this degree, which will like never materialize. I want to die, I want to just give up. I’m so ****** tired of existence it self that I wish to end it. I’ve thought about this for a long time now, and I just can’t get the thought out of my head. I don’t know if even want help.

Hon,I am in the same exact boat as you- I am failing EVERYTHING…I am an F student… Just keep trying your best, and if you can’t have the degree know that you have still learned something and that you tried to get it. Believe me, there are alot of people out there like us…

I used to think the same thing that ending it would be the answer, but it’s not. Just think about everything you will miss out on if you do,it’s not worth it…Think about the people you could have loved…the children you could have raised…the moments of happyness you would miss out on…and the people that need help…

You sound exhausted. I know what it is like to fail classes, and to despair of graduating, but it sounds like you had a lot more going on, and I can see why you would feel worn out.

You sound kind of angry in your post, and kind of overwhelmed, but I can’t tell if you are feeling depressed in general, or if you are just intensely frustrated with school right now. It sounds like you have made sacrifices to focus on school and you are feeling like it will be wasted. Is this right?

What kind of difficulties are you having with school right now? Is it difficulty staying engaged, or focused, or do you have other things in your life that interfere with it? I can offer advice for some situations, but I’m not sure what is going on with you right now.

How close are you to graduating? What are you studying?

You should talk to the dean. You can make a good argument here and maybe they can help with the school thing. I knew somebody once who was able to hook up with the right people at school and they wiped out his last semester which he ruined due to various problems.

Keep this in mind from someone who knows from experience.
Academia is not the be all and end all!
