You: Mum, I’d like to be homeschooled.
Mum: Oh, why is that?
You: insert explanation here>
not wid my mum. she wont listen unless its sumthing to do with my sister, and she dont go my school so, it wont work
other schools wont exsept me, since i dont wanna go it dont. i want to get my education but with my attendence as bad as it is no other school will let me transfer
Ah, now your into the problem of actually convincing her.
I’d imagine that will be quite difficult. Depending on her look on it anyway. Me personally, I hate the idea of homeschooling and if I had any kids I’d be very against them not going to a regular school. Regardless of what kind of crap your going through, it’s still an important part of your development. I’m not too long out of school, and I know I’d be an entirely different person if I’d been homeschooled. And I’m pretty sure it would not be different for the better.
but the guys in my school try to do… stuff to me and the girls hate me because of it. i’d have more friends if i was homeschooled
That’s fair enough.
Things can always be sorted out, if things are getting really out of hand you can involve the school authorities. I still stand by my original homeschooling is bad statement.
no one will listen to me. my mum dont give a rats *** and my dads too obsessed in his new family to even yell at me. school wont listen coz its too busy with this christmas thing their doing.
Being homeschooled is a hard job. Would your mom be OK having you home to be homeschooled. and would you be disciplined enough to keep up with the curriculum yourself without having teachers to tell you to do it on your own? How old are you?
I can guarantee that if it’s a serious problem and you go about it the right way than at least your school would take it seriously.
im 14, i cook for myself, i wash my own clothes, i clean the house and my mum has to work, but ive allready sorted it all out

Huh?
littlenick asked if i was responsible and how old i was. ive sorted out the problem with my mum. i could go round my aunts.
ok, if you go up to your mom and say that……lets just say things are being done…….she’s GOING to listen! trust me, try to tell her, and if she doesn’t listen, say it anyways! yell it! not as loud as you can cause you don’t want the whole neighborhood to know, but seriously! just tell her, and if she ignores you or says she’s busy, say “no mum, I’m not going to wait! this is happening to me!” (whatever that is)
Annyia Hardwick wrote:
will it work?
you bet it will! don’t hold back and ask “mum, can I tell you something?” because the way it sounds is like she doesn’t wanna listen, so make her listen! just blurt it out there!

You say your mom works so who will teach you? (unless she thinks you have the motivation to do the lessons by yourself) and those programs can get pretty expensive so those are some reasons your mom may say no. Try to come up with possible answers before asking her. good luck convincing her!

yea, that’s true, but if public school s harmfull for her emotianally, that can lead to depression, and we all know what that can lead to.

Considering I got 2 a’levels when 12 then I am not doing to badly.
there is nothing wrong with being educated at home and it need not be expensive.
right, but if you’re going to be getting a lot of books, they are slightly more expensive than public school, and those can all add up more and more.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with being homeschooled… My brother did it for a while. In the US, colleges won’t give you credit for homeschooling unless you take it with an accredited program, which are pretty expensive.

hey, just checkin up on how it went.
Homeschooling is great! Children learn faster and more effectively with less distractions/harassments. As for the books being expensive - try your local public library. If mom has trouble grasping the concept have her check out some homeschooling websites or talk to a local homeschooling support group. You should really have a tutor or someone checking in on you though, the idea of you doing it alone is a bit scary. I’ve homeschooled my daughter for a year and a bit, and her grades have improved. She has also completed 2 grade levels.
