I work at a nursing hom and rehabilitation center.

So i take care of elderly people, but ther are also people there who arent elderly, just there for other reasons ranging from drug addiction to physical thereapy from accidents, and there ages range from 23 to 103. Okay so anyways, theres this girl who lives there, lets say here name is Amy. I think she is there for drug rehab, or whatever reason. so anyways, Ive always been nice to her. for example the other day i drove her to mcdonalds and i sit around and talk to her when i have free time. okay so her is the problem. I think she is getting a little to attached to me. She follows me around and she’s always asking me to pick her up so we can hang out and she’s always asking to come ober my house, and she want to call me and all this other stuff. I dont mind being her friend, but she sorta seems to want to ALWAYS be around me. I fell bad..because i know shes probably tired of the nursing home enviroment,am i being a b!tch? I dont know how to hell her without hurting her.. Keep in mind i think she has psych issues too, so even if i am nice she may take it the wrong way! what do i do!

I wouldn’t actually tell her to back off unless she becomes stalker-ish. Maybe just “be busy” a lot and only hang out with her a set number of times per week? (Set in your mind, don’t tell her you have a limit.) Continue being nice to her, you’re probably one of the only friends she has there. Good luck!

not that that job..lol all the other girlsare complete b!tches..they are so uncompassionate and stuff. u can tell that there just thgere for a check. thats y i do out of my way to be nice!

well it hasnt gotten so serious as stalking..she just seem to always want to be around me…for example..if i have to help another resident…she’ll wiat for me outside of thier bedroom. Or if im talking to someone else, she walk up and join the conversation, then follow me after its over. I think maybe its because were inthe same age range. she’s only 2 years older than me, and i know she just wants a freind. It just gets frustrating sometimes…i really dont wanna be mean..i just wish she would back off just a little bit.

yea i ask her to help me with things sometimes, only because shes always there..plus she seems so happy to help! like im im making a bed or something, sometimes i ask her for help or something. No i havent tried it but i will though! thanks a lot! i will just be care ful how isay it so she wont think im telling her to go away…lol and dont eorry about me changing! everyday i go to that job and see what a$$holes they are, it just makes me more determined not to be like that. Alot of the residents seem to cling to me lol especially the males! lol) , its just that she is the most persistent with it is all.
