Buddha said that you did not have to be born a brahmin in order to be a brahmin. In other words, he discounted the caste system. So should you and your girlfriend. No one–NO ONE–is born better than anyone else! We are all equal in the eyes of God.

When you get your MBAs, move away and get married. Her family will be upset, but they will get over it.

The caste system is a dysfunctional social system, and it needs to go away. Your generation should be the one to discard it once and for all.

Jagad..you must edit your post and remove the contact numbers as the site does not allow personal information.

My advice would be to talk with your girlfriend. Enlist the help of your family if you can and write to her parents asking to meet with them. If they see that you are an honourable and hard-working man, they may change their mind about you. All parents want the best for their children, and showing that you respect them will help to smooth the waters.

If they do not accept their daughter’s wishes.. then you and your girlfriend must decide for yourselves what route you wish to take. If living without each other is unbearable, then bear the difficulties that going against family wishes will bring and be together!

No, but brahmin is. And it’s the highest caste. A Sikh would probably considered kshatriya . . . am I correct?

Hi i am struggling with the same issues , but what i realised is you have to stand up for what you believe . you have to try all the means possible to convince them .
You have to fight , not hide .
Pure Love happens rarely … not everyone is that lucky ..
Believe me its true ..

Take Sharukh Khan and Gauri Khan case ..
He’s an inspiration in every walk of life

Try till you suceed , and when you do .. Cherish it all your life
never forget it…
i hope things work out for you
