You can buy one form the manufacturer, its a restore disk and not a separate OS disk. Hope this helps :-)

do you run it on a notebook, or a desktop?
make first sure (if you have a laptop/notebook) it is acutally possible.)

I don’t think you will need it then. Just remove it at all. (format disk e.g.)
And instal XP

All right then, if we can really help you I need:

1 Full specifications of your desktop.

2 Reason for downgrade.

3 Year and month of purchase.

4 Tell me what you have tried so far, and why you think you need vista CD

5 Have you actually fdisked the hard drive? It is important that you do this. Or else you won’t get anywhere.

Okay, what I need is: RAM, CD-rom drive.
you appearently have a floppy drive.
1. if you have 2 harddrives. Then use vista or of the alike, and format the entire other (the second one) in a FAT32 file index.
2. Get this new empty disk, as the only master disk. And remove the vista one.
3. Make sure your first boot device is the CD-rom player in the BIOS.
4. Install XP

If it doesn’t work after this. (remind you; this has nothing to do with virusses or of the alike. That is not even relevant at this level. scandisk has no reason either. )
Then you are gifted with an either hopelessly outdated XP version. (get service pack 2 or higher)
Or your computer is elementarily broke. Thus ask for a re-fund.
Follow each of these steps. And it should work.

you don’t have 300 gig’s of RAM…. RAM is workmemory, not hard-drive space.
