World Coming To An End?

As you may know people talk about the world ending but the most correct hypothesis made in the pas was the prediction of 2012. Supposedly December 21, 2012 will be the worlds last day: this prediction was made by the ancient Mayans and they were right about 3 out of there 4 predictions so far B.C/A.D A holy man will be killed(jesus), A.D 1000 the world will be discovered by 2 explorers, A.D 1500 The world will wreak havoc with warriors, 1910-1930 a major war will begin. This question has been worrying me, i have absolutely no problem with dying but will everyone die?

~~Dinosaurs were around for about 1billion years
~~humans have been around for almost 1 billion years

So…What do you think?

The Mayans did not say HOW the world will end? Or did they?
It be as simple as the world as we know it will end.
Which to me is a good thing, considering how retarded the world is and has been for some time.

Perhaps the aliens will finally show themselves.
Maybe a nuclear war.

Which of course we can survive.
Perhaps mother nature will finally say… enough is enough… and wipe out 90 per cent of the population!

Can’t wait to find out to be honest!

The most likely end of the world will occur because civilization breaks down, due to Western society trying to turn the world into a giant factory/corporation and failing dismally.

Capitalism will utlimately collapse, because you cannot sustain infinite growth with finite resources!

There is a theory to this:

The earth and the sun will get to close to eachother meaning that the earth will blow up, or everyone will die because of unbearable heat, meaning almost as hot as the sun itself, of course jesus or god wasnt real (no offence to any believers) because there is a scientific theory, the Big Bang! ok so there yas have it!

okay first of all:
Dinosaurs have only been here for about 500 million years.
Humans (if we are lucky) 3 million years at best, homo sapiens perhaps even only a million…

In about 4 billion years, yes the hydrogen on the sun will deplete slowly and the earth will be destroyed by the sun.

Universe itself is only 13 billion years old….
and earth has been around for about 4 billion of years… It won’t just stop existing you know.

But as to the mankind, I deem it highly unlikely that no matter how hard we try, humans will extinct, we are just to numbersome. And too technologically advanced. Only ourselves can destroy eachtother. And a new big bang won’t happen.

I think you are all paranoid.

No offense but I wouldn’t believe in such bs. There is a reason why we are here and there is a force out there at work than humans. I don’t think existence is an accident.Someone purposely created all of this for a reason, and that reason is yours, but yeah I was just expressing myself.

I think that when the world ends, we don’t really need scientific evidence :P (but I catch your drift)

But I think that isn’t the question. If the end will come, we won’t see it comming, that is the idea of the end.
It is like terrorism, it happens best, when you don’t expect it.

The world is coming to an end, but not because of technology or prophecy, but because of the second law of thermodynamics: disorder increases in a finite universe. Narp.

Disorder always increases, but that doesn’t mean we end (in the end of course)
hell, one could even wonder if time increases because of this disorder.
In that sense (mathematically not wrong)
It will never end because of that, because time will stand still…

Well the big bang, is mostly an expantion of space. So there is now ‘where’ at the big bang, the universe was literaly created. so space just expands.
We wouldn’t know why it started, and since according tot he theory nothing was know before that and cannot be known, the theory is largely beliefs, and its truth needs to be verified by its predictions…
The big bang is just a theory that explains something that cannot actually be seen. But the idea is that, when we look at the expantion of the universe, we can calculate that everything finds its origin about 13,4 billion years ago in the same spot. And hence, Big bang was born.

I find that quite funny….
Because every few years when technology allows us to see deeper into space, the Big Bang theorists quickly revise their estimates!

I wish they would just give it away.

The primordeal atom (that’s what they call the infinitely stable mass that existed before the big bang) would have need some reason to become unstable….
An outside influence if my understanding of physics is correct.

So far, aside from the possible influence from another universe, or God, there haven’t been really any ideas as to why this may be!

if its from another universe, then clearly, our universe is in fact not a universe, because it is not all that exists…

If its God, then that’s a bit silly, because science is generally atheistic in nature!

I don’t think it is quite a sound theory mind you, and I am a physicist…
I don’t think it was an atomb or anything of the alike. Something was present, which all of the sudden had need to be observable, that is all I can think of. Why else would you need nature? That is what happened at the big bang. Everything got created…

what is to be then?
