Stuff you don’t see any more!
Another of my posts to warm the heart.
So… here’s how this one works…
Name three things, or more if you want…
That you used to see, and rarely see any more :)
For me they are
1) Those old outdoor toilets with the crescent moon window in the door
2) The WALK/DONT WALK signs that are written in letters not the little jelly baby man kind
3) STOP signs. There are a few around, but most have been replaced with GIVE WAY signs
Enjoy people :)

1) Thatched roof cottages
2) Children running around playing rounders, just being children
3) Those old grandfather clocks that bong on the hour
Hand-drawn animation.
Skinned knees/elbows. (too many safety pads… where are the bleeding children?)
Atari game systems.
Oh man…. thanks for reminding me Xeno.
I need to re-download a nice Atari emulator.
Unfortunately… i no longer have a compatilbe joystick :(

Sounds personal LOL!!!
I walk most places.
And if I can’t there’s usually a bus or train involved instead.
And I agree Cody!
Although Chivalry is not dead.
I practice it often :)

Ha, ha… We don’t have thatched roofs here in FL. They are not really made from the most practical building materials to withstand hurricane force winds.
Naples? Key West? Sanibel?
I lived there for thirteen years, I know I was stoned, but not the whole time!

The others have already been said..

Have you considered becoming a monk?
Things that seem to be lost..
1. kids playing outdoors (fishing, building forts, playing tackle football)
Seems (like Xeno said) that fear of physical injury and predators has taken the outdoors away from kids. Building a linerider animation just isn’t the same as building a fort out of small trees and brush in woods. But wait, a hatchet might tempt someone with self-injury. And we used to play tackle football, sometimes in the rain and mud. You might say that Wii doesn’t impress me much.
2. walking to school
Before there seemed to be a perv around every corner, parents could let their kids walk to school if it wasn’t more than twenty miles uphill though the snow (I may exaggerate).
3. those huge Christmas tree light bulbs that were so prone to burning down houses. Okay I don’t really miss those that much.

Hmm..
1. Sit down dinners every night with the family.
2. Playing board games (also as a family).
3. Ice cream trucks or (as we referred to them) “dickie dees” on bicycles selling ice cream in the summer.
Those student crossing guards to help kids cross the road at certain points outside public primary schools. With the bright orange jackets and lollipop sticks.
Oddbodz & Space Oddbodz (Only Australians in the 90’s would remember them).
Good classic T.V sitcom re-runs. The original Addams Family, Gilligan’s Island, Thunderbirds, My Three Sons, Different Strokes, The Honeymooners, the list goes on. Cable showings don’t count.

i would have to say,

cans of soda with the pull tabs rather than the flip and push back openers
(god i sound old)
Hehe. We still get the glass soda bottle here. Though they cost an arm and a leg because it’s a “collector’s item.” Why anyone would want to collect something like that when it’s not an endangered species is beyond me. Heh.
Commercials for Homelink reverse charge calls.

Maybe its a reference to the wages they pay the kids that work there ;)

My father.
Snow at Christmas.
Routemaster buses.
Old fashioned kids games. Like those elastic loops in the 80’s that kids used to hold around their legs on each end while someone (or more) would do tricks in the middle.
The original Rubiks cube (I’ve been trying to find one everywhere)
Kids playing sports like hockey, soccor, rounders (baseball) or skeelball in the middle of the street. They seem to have better things to do than enjoy the outdoors.
Traffic cops
Legwarmers

That wasn’t a comedy was it?
Meh, depends how you look at it. I found parts of it pretty amusing. Though some would find it more of a drama.
Ice Cube needs to do another straight-out comedy though. Just no more Barbershop or Friday movies.
Hmmmmm…. I thought it was a comentary on violence and intolence….
People got killed I remember!
But I Cube was pretty funny in that film!

I was mostly polite in my teens. Even when others were being mean I just retreated and apologized. One foster placement I was in kept getting annoyed that I would politely ask for a glass of water even after I’d been there for almost 2 years. They kept complaining to my social workers and family about it.
But yes, it’s rare these days that I see teenagers with manners. Actually, it’s rare I see kids with manners these days unless they’re toddlers being prompted. It’s like once they turn seven, it’s turned into a right of rudeness and ignorance.

good old fashioned games like the playstation games. like rayman, croc, crash bandicoot, tekken. now it’s all just shooting games. its so sexist and lame.
decent orignial clouths. alot of the clouths seem the same or similar nowadays. i hate fashion. fashion is boring. remember the good old days when everyone wore something different?
and the nice cheap prices! the days when kinder eggs used to cost 32 pence instead of 55 pence! choc bars used to be 32 or 36 pence, now everything is extra expensive! grr lol
