I am getting a root canal tomorrow…

i have a crack in my back tooth (#29) all the way to the root, so I have to get the procedure done. i’m not looking forward to it AT ALL.
not only because of the pain, but also because I have no dental insurance… so that means lots of $$ out of my pocket. but hey, it has to get done right??

anyways, if you have had this dental work done yourself, let me know how it went… ok guys?

I’d like to know what to expect…

pain meds?
sore?

Didn’t feel a thing actually.
I’d heard alot of hype about it being painful and then after i got out they told me it was a root canal. since then I’ve assumed all the rumors started in the days of poor pain drugs.

aparently I have a crack in the tooth that leads all the way down to the root. it hasn’t quite hit the root yet, but it’s really close to it.

i have a toungue ring, and i think i may have bitten down on it at one time, which caused the crack or something. but i don’t remeber that ever happening…so i’m not sure what caused it

Ya they gave me oxys. And i cracked my tooth in the back of my mouth by accidentally slamming my head into my boyfriends and my jaw was open.

Hi! I had a root canal and i’m only 11 yrs old. It did not hurt at all. they normally give yu a needle that stings a tiny bit to but your mouth to sleep. And they will probably wiggle your tooth around and it normally sounds like rice bubbles crackling. But other than that you might have a little pain after the root canal but it’s not serious or anything.
PS - Rest!
