I haven’t had natural hair color since I was 13ish. Although I can’t help with brands, but I can warn you that the non permanent, wash out after 6 washes type stuff is BAD!! I used it and my hair faded a very un-mistakable orange color but never properly came out so I then had to use permanent die to fix it.
I’m from the UK so I can’t really advise on brands I’m afraid.
What color is you hair now though? And what color would you like to die it?
I also know nothing on hair extensions either sorry.

You can get some cool clip in hair extensions on ebay!

As for dye, I think Auburn is cool on pale green eyed people, a bit like Scully from The X-Files!

I think all brands are good, just make sure you read the box and it says ‘non permanent’ or ’semi permanent’ and make sure you test it out on some hidden skin 24hrs before you use it, just to make sure you don’t have an allergic reaction!

Did the 6 wash one have ammonia in it? Thats what makes your hair a strange copper colour when it fades or washes out! I think you can get hair dye without ammonia these days too…I’m not sure!

No it didnt have ammonia in as far as I can remember.
The point I was trying to emphasise though, is that in my experience, the semi and non permanent hair dyes are never that, they always seems to last longer and you end up having to re-dye your hair to get it looking right again.

Do you want to dye your hair blonder or darker?
I agree with liv that an auburn color looks nice on people with pale skin and green eyes.

ha ha, not from what I’ve heard, if you buy them from a good company they’re excellent quality! I’ve had two lots before and never had a problem!

http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trks…

Plus, I think once the hair has been cut, washed etc, lice wouldn’t be able to survive…they live on the scalp!

I totally agree with Jamiee about permanent hair dye, I don’t think wash out ones give you the full effect :P and they always never wash out completely as Jamiee said!

Also, this colour is quite cool, and it doesn’t even have to be that red, it could be more subtle and still be effective!

Oooo that is a very nice red, I wanted my hair to be that color a few months ago…but it didn’t quite make it because I was white blonde (like in my avatar) before I died it red. I’m am now dark brown, but contemplating going blonde again. I just can’t stay one color for too long LOL. I get bored easily!

Yeah it’s probably rather illegal to sell hair extensions with lice on… So I’m guna say they really don’t. And as Liv said, no scalp/washing/cutting etc = no lice.

I totally get what you mean with getting bored! I’m always changing my hair too! and I love that nice hair feeling after using the dye and then the conditioner! I’ve been red a couple of times, and tried blonde, but it looked a bit stupid, now I’m back to browny red, but it won’t be long until its time to change!

I know that soft shiny smooth feeling of freshly dyed hair all too well, and I love it!
I’m lucky I can get away with alot of different colors. I’m naturally very blonde but I have dark eyes. I have met people when I have had very blonde hair and they thought it suited me, and whn I meet people when I have brown hair, they can’t believe I’ve ever had blonde hair. Such fun times.

Platinum blonde hair is so much fun but it takes a lot to maintain…eg dying roots every 6 weeks or so.
Black or very dark brown may make your skin look white, especially as you are already pale skinned.
I think with green eyes you would suit a reddish coloring to your hair.

I think the problem with dying your hair is that, as soon as you do it once, you can never regain your natural hair color, you can only dye it back to a similar color.
Are you dying your hair yourself or with a friends help? I think you should maybe discuss dying your hair with you mam. She sounds like she would be upset if you dyed you’re hair. Personally I don’t think I would dye my hair if I knew my mam didn’t want me to. But that may be just me.

Like I first said, I only know what my natural color is because of photos from when it wasnt dyed. Maybe you could consider gettting some Blonde highlights put in to liven your hair up? That way you still have the same kind of color and your mam wouldn’t have as much of a problem with it?
