How are you dealing with the economy?

Any money saving tips to share? I’ve been keeping an eye on my gas usage (even though the prices are down–it’s a good habit to retain), and I try to use coupons as much as posssible. The problem with that is the coupons I get are for stuff I never buy! LOL

I keep my running in the car all to within one area, instead of darting from one end of town to the other. I shop wherever I can get things cheaper. I allow so much per person and stick to that budget.I buy all my Christmas paper after Christmas in the sales for the following year.
Anything I buy for my family in England, I make it as light weight as I can to save on postage. Umm,For my husbands family we draw a names from a hat and only buy for that one person, that way everyone gets a gift. Thats about it really, I also buy and Angel for the tree each year to give to the less fortunate kids, just a thing that makes me feel good :-)Its gonna be a hard one this year, but Im not getting depressed about it, Christmas comes every year, and what people don’t get this year, they can have next year. Not a biggy :D

Making meals that can stretch. I make SPanish rice and stuff peppers with it and also have extra to serve instead of potatoes. I freeze all the extras individually so if someone gets hungry they can microwave it. Cook a turkey, potatoes and corn I make up a bunch of frozen dinners. I make spaghetti sauce and make lasagna cut it up individual and freee them. I cook alot at home and freeze things so the food lasts longer and nothing goes to waste.

One thing I discovered a long time ago is how to save on gas. I cook with a low flame ALL the time and cover whatever I’m cooking. Since I started doing this, I have been able to shave about 50% to 75% off my gas bill. Another thing I do more is walk or take the bus more often. It saves on gasoline and it is healthy to walk. Finally, watch out for appliances which you are not using yet they remain on: clocks, radios, tv, computers, monitors, etc, etc. Every penny helps. God bless you.
