Oh boy. LOL.
A feel good movie.
One that is guaranteed to empty your stuffy sinuses?
What Dreams May Come.
It’ll move your soul.
I’ve seen this about 10 times in the last week.
A treasure, to be sure.
But, um, I’m not kidding about it being that moving.
Edie

Mr. Magorium’s wonder emporium has heart,I love that movie, which was surpriseing considering it look like a both a cheap knock off of Willy Wonka and a kids movie, still five stars though. (Your right Jen, Jack black is the bomb)

Since it is the season, how about Christmas Story?
Really nostalgic, and warm and fuzzy and funny.
I’ll button it up now.
Going to watch What Dreams May Come yet again.
Feel better soon, Jen! Edie

Chronicles of Narnia.

I’m actually not a movie person but I agree the Dark Night was amazing–but a little dark to get through a cold.

When I’m sick, I lay on the couch and watch my FRIENDS DVDs :)
That’s always a gooder :)

Oh I also loved “the Bucket List”! But I’m with you, they had so much room for more than they did.

I’m a little late to this party I know but since no-one else has mentioned this, I feel I have to.

THE best feel-good film of all time is My Neighbour Totoro by Hayao Miyazaki.

If you need cheering up, go out and buy or rent it right now, then sit down and watch it with an open mind.
I promise you you won’t regret it.

Just so you know, it’s anime and is in Japanese originally.
But there’s an English-dubbed version which is good too if you don’t like subtitles.

I’d imagine that any DVD of it you find will have both the Japanese and English dubs but, depending on your preferences, that might be something to look out for.

Either way though, it’s still the sweetest, most magical film I’ve ever seen.

Yeah, Oldboy’s Korean.
Still haven’t seen it myself though.

Nightwatch is a great film but I would need subtitles or an English dub personally.
Plus, it’s not really a feel-good film…

I though Battle Royale was good but the sequel was kinds disappointing IMO.

Zatoichi is an excellent film as well, definitely worth a look given you seem to be ok with non-English cinema.
Beat Takeshi is a great actor/director.

Shaolin Soccer and Kung Fu Hustle are also two great Chinese comedies from Stephen Chow.
You should watch the dubbed version of KFH though because it’s deliberately down badly and adds to the humour.

Also, if you want classic Japanese cinema, then Akira Kurosawa is a must.

As for anime, if you’re fairly new to it all, then Miyazaki is a good introduction, he’s very ‘accessible’ with a number of big-budget dubs from all-star Hollywood casts but the plots, direction and animation is still all top notch.
Of his films, I’d recommend starting with either Totoro or Princess Mononoke. Mononoke is a grander film but Totoro is sweeter/more magical.
