I overstayed my visa by 6 months in Spain.

This January 2009 I am going to go back to the States, does anybody know if I will have any problems at the airport? Is there going to be some sort of fine? Or do you know if there is any number I can call to ask for this sort of information? Please help me out, I want to be prepared for whatever consequences that I may have to deal with. I don’t want to have it hit me in the head and lets say there’s a fine and I have absolutely no money with me. Thank you so much.

I was thinking the worst thing that can happen is they don’t let me leave Spain or the U.S won’t take me back =(
