We are nearly at a time where most of the world will make a historical decision- what will you decide?
Will the year be “two thousand ten” or “twenty-ten”??? For the past decade we’ve correctly sounded out the word, but last century we divided it into “nineteen-oh-nine”.
By the way is it currently “two thousand and eight”, or “two thousand eight”? I tend to stick an extra “n” sound after thousand… Not sure what everyone else does. Cast your vote today!
- Two thousand ten
- Twenty ten

You know what gets me; People in the city that I live often say “two-oh-eight.” That’s totally leaving out a zero. It weirds me out. Why would people say such a thing?
where do you live???
Maybe a different way. We commonly do not mention the hundreds when there is no hundreds digit, but you could pronounce it two thousand, zero hundreds, and ten.

by the way… i voted… for 2 thousand and ten…. however… im not sure… because they both sound good to me… hehehehehehe… ill probably use both of them…
Maybe we should call it simply “The year the world went to he11.”

Interesting. What should we call 2011 then?

I say numbers how they are because my mom and dad and teachers scolded me about the extra “and” when I was younger. Hence, it’s the year two thousand eight not two thousand and eight.
I vote #2
People are lazy, its easier to say.
it should be pronounced twenty-ten twenty-11… those of you pro - two thousand and eleven what are people going to be saying in 2151 - two thousand one hundred and fifty one it would be much easier to call it twenty-51. plus twenty-10 - twenty-11 sounds futuristic.
and like Conan O’Brien would say… “In theee yeeaar 2000…. everything will sound futuristic”

Not many (probably none) of us will be here in the 2100’s so that doesn’t matter.
lol… haha that’s true for most of you people but i will be here. so just call it 20-10 20-11 and there wont be any need for political assassinations
Oh. I wouldn’t be so sure about people alive today not being around in 2100. Progress in life extension sciences is predicted to allow people to live viably into their 150s soon.
I want to say it as two thousand and ten. Two thousand ten sounds less confusing than twenty ten though.
Yeah I like two thousand ten better.
Shorter will always win.
In the year 2525, if man is still alive.
what about women being alive in the year 2525…….

No, that’d be 2012, according to some.
I voted twenty-ten so that looking forward to twenty-twenty is perfect vision.

Haha. Good one Michael!
As a member of the future class of 2010, I would rather be referred to as a member of the class of twenty ten rather than the class of ‘10. :P
The votes are equal so far on this hysterical decision.

Only if we’re in a time machine.

I count seconds when I need to time something by saying, “two thousand one, two thousand two, two thousand three”. So “two thousand” is almost a second.
But, when talking about the past, and in pre-2000 years did we not just skip the prefix and say ‘84 or ‘93? Can we not now just start saying ‘11 or ‘10?
