Fallout 3 doesn’t work on my pc can you help?
I’ve just bought fallout 3 and i’ve installed it, that was fine but whenever i click play it just comes up with a blank screen then an error report.
I’ve done that thing when you tell it not to run in ffdshow, and i even uninstalled ffdshow but it does the exact same. I’ve downloaded the patch too and still no luck got any ideas on what could be the problem? Thanks

i thought this but my laptop has the same video card, and it loads up on that but my laptop isn’t powerful enough to run it and it’s practically impossible to play.
Gosh, it could be many things. First, I would checck if your graphics card can handle the game. Bethesda makes some monster games that not just need a great graphics card, but alot of ram also. I have most there games and I know you can call and get free help. Of course it’s long distance. Thay are very helpful and won’t let you go till the problem is fixed. Phone number might be on the back of the game.
hey i just been thinking what’s different between my laptop and PC and my laptop has Vista and my PC has XP xould that have anything to do with it? I know it says that it will run on both but could that be one of the issues?
No, It should not. although, Is fallout an online game? I don’t have it, (wish I did)But was thinking that if it is, If you installed on one computer, and you try to go online with the same game on another, it might stop you…I still say call bethesda…
what does the error say?
The same thing is happening to me. I downloaded it to my laptop and played all day Sunday. When I tried to play on Monday it told me to insert the original DVD.I will take the game back to Wal-Mart and exchange it. If that doesnt work, I will call Bethesda and they are down the road from me… :)
everytime I try and press new game it starts to load for one second and then just crashes WHAT CAN I DO
thats what happens to me
can some1 pls help!
wow..only one thing left to do return the game and don’t give a **** about anything Bethesda releases for the pc in the future, this is a ******* embarasment to their “great” game developers and patchers, would you believe their only solution to these problems is a fan’s suggestion i mean its their ******* game! they should fix the p.o.s.
I have the same problem with “Fallout 3 has encountered a problem and needs to close” When I click play. Its not my GFX card, or my RAM, and I DL’d the patch. I did the FFDshow thing as well. I have no idea what the problem is, but I bet it is linked to XP because most people who have had this problem have it ONLY on XP… Any smart suggestions would be nice.
It’s actually caused be the game’s poor coding with audio cards/onboard audio. I recently reinstalled it again and almost forgot what fixed the prob, then I remembered I had to disable EAX in my audio card’s control panel and it would work perfect. But because I’m running 64bit (or because I’m in Win7), I don’t seem to have that option in my audio control panel now, so I’m a bit stuck.
If you have any of the EAX type settings (or the special setting for Xonia cards), try disabling that.
how do you get to the audio controll panel?
its not just xp i have vista and 4 gb of ram and a 2 gb vid card and i have the exact same problem:( as everybody els i played all day the first day i got it then i tryed playing the next and buff didnt work iv tryed the patch iv tryed uninstalling and reinstaling but nothing has worked
My brother is having this problem.
It’s really making no sense, I can play it on the Windows 7 beta, and he can’t on XP.
u have to uninstal gamersOSD
Ok. i had the same problem and i know how to fix it. open the readme file for fallout 3 and go to the system requirements. check off what u have and go to bestbuy for the rest. that should fix it. Before i had a intel pentium xp with 512mb of ram and a geforce 5200 graphics card. i went and got the stuff i needed and now i have 2 gb of ram and a ATI HD2400 graphics card and the game works like a charm.
**** it this is pissing me off i bought this game today and it crashes when i press New Game and says Error has happened and Fallout3 needs to close or something like that.
Heres my sytem things… I really can’t spend any money so i need to know how to get it to work without spending money… and if i spend money i need it cheap…
i have a Windows Vista laptop with an intel pentium dual core card or something
I dont really know yet…. but i have dell windows vista dell inspiron1525
i have a problem…when i put the disc it says “put in the original disc”
Meh, followed a link while looking for Fallout avatars… seventh month old query. Pointless Opinion: yxi500yo200 is HOT! Or, was hot when she snapped herself. *BONG*
you need a desktop for it to work
yeah i’ve got the same problem when you click start game it loads but never comes to the real game i dd’d the patch, unninstalled gamers OSD and my graphics card shouldnt be the problem because its a GTX 210 gs please anyone I really don’t get it
