Who is still here that I know?
I have been gone from this site for over a year. Before I left, I had become pregnant. My emotions were running extremely high and with my history of depression and anxiety, I was in no condition to try and help anyone on help.com. In fact, I was becoming defeated by the opinions and moods I was encountering here. I probably said and did things that I would not normally do and I apologize for that.
I can see that the friends I made on this site never gave up on me. Contacting me frequently even though I did not respond. You are truly “good people” friends. I missed you guys too. I thought about you often but because of a promise to myself and others, I was taking a strict break from the internet while I got through my pregnancy and any possible post-natal depression or “baby blues”.
My little girl is now 6 months old and I am a very proud mother. However, my pregnancy was not easy. I was taken out by morning sickness and barely left the couch. At one point they almost put me in the hospital for dehydration. I got terrible pains in the second trimester (round ligament pains). The third trimester was the worse. I swelled up, had high blood pressure (possible Preeclampsia) and I developed gestational diabetes. I was on “bed rest” more then I wanted to be.
My labor was not easy either. Even though I was having pre labor contractions for 2 days, they decided to induce me due to low amniotic fluid. I will sum the experience up as being “hell”. Pitocin is not your friend! My baby was stressing with each contraction as evidenced by her heartbeat lowering with each contraction. I wanted to avoid a c-section but that is exactly what the result of my labor was. I delivered my beautiful baby girl at 5lbs. 2oz. I cried when the doctor held her up over the drape for me to see her. She left the hospital at 4lbs. 9oz.
I miss you friends. Please know I have thought about you.
