Is that when you can only use the keys with blue numbers/symbols on them also?

We figured it out. We had “padlocked” the blue function keys (fn/f9).

COMPAQ BLUE KEYS ARE TURNED ON and OFF by pressing fn+numlk at the top right of the keyboard. Jesus im going to go live in a cave somewhere far from my computer with a lifetime supply of smokes now…

holding “Ctrl” and pressing “Shift” changed it back to normal. Hopefully it works for you as well.
