How do I apply a hotfix without loading up windows?

I feel a tad dumb asking this, but I have a laptop with Vista Home Basic installed… one day it just decided to stop loading windows and display this message;

“PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA”

*** STOP: 0×00000050 (0×8d620004, 0×00000000, 0×8f970fce, 0×00000000)

I’ve tried doing the F8 thing; loading it in every single option… all with the same blue screen surprise within a few seconds.

I’ve also tried launching system restore, in any form I can… but within a few seconds (no matter how fast I try to click threw the process) it just stops what its doing and goes back to the same page_fault..

So far the only thing I’ve been able to find is this link threw microsoft.com
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/939720

I have downloaded the hotfix, which brings me to my real question…. how exactly do I apply it to the computer where I can’t load up any form of windows at all.

Heres what you do at reboot press F10 or F11 and then do a system restore. You cant restore from F8 because your system has to boot first that is where the error is. That should work so you can restore your system. Hope this helps :-)
