A poem for thoughts

I’ve been around the world
I’ve seen a million things
I’ve fought in countless wars
And dined with many kings.

I’ve seen the northern lights
I’ve counted all the starts
Been in ‘n’ out of Saturn’s rings
And started life on Mars

I’m fluent in every language
I’ve tasted each cuisine
I’ve stayed in every palace
And lived what people dream.

I was there when it began
And I know when it will end
My only enemy is man,
Yet you are still my dearest friend.

I invented evolution
I gave you your first breath
I was there at your conception
And I’ll be there at the time of death.

Isn’t that from a game or something like that?

I personally would love to be whatever this poem is about, though it’s pretty depressing. Seems like this has seen so many people leave… to me that’s the saddest thing ever.

Well, whatever this poem is about… it seems like they have seen so many people leave…

They’ve been there in the beginning and at the end…
Seeing many things leave it behind.
It’s like a parent seeing their children die before them.

The poem is really good, it’s just depressing for me.

God did not write that poem. Believe it or not it is from the X Box 360 game Fable 2. I want to slap you all.

You unlock the last Deamon door and it’s right there. It’s called Marcus’ Poem. I wonder why someone would represent a poem from a popular video game as their own.

this poem is the one that invited me into the world of poetry, i remember sitting, playing on the 360, in that beautiful villa of fable 2 and reading that poem, it reminded me of many things about life and i even used it in a school presentation once. I believe the poem is a story of god, in the beginning it showed the joys of everything he has done and how everyone questions him (’fought in countless wars’) and then it showed his sorrow, the sorrow of loving everyone and everything but having to be there when all of those things die.
no i am not religious but that poem is just beautiful and very spiritual, it spoke to me in a wondrous way.
thanks fable 2, lion head and marcus robert welfare (Rest In Peace.)
