home help: On 12-12-08 I slipped on ice while delivering mail and suffered a fractured/dislocated left ankle. - Help.com

On 12-12-08 I slipped on ice while delivering mail and suffered a fractured/dislocated left ankle.

2 years ago I almost lost my home due to workers compensation denying my claim (and former management handling my paperwork -sloppy-. I almost lost my house and this time around I am scared to loose my home. I DO NOT WANT A HANDOUT. I can use my direct deposit to pay for a consolidation loan and/or a fixed rate refinance. My annual and sick leave is almost deplete and I am open to any suggestions. How people survive worse situations…..has me puzzled. If anyone can recommend legal advice for me through the State of New Mexico….write me or email Jose Duran Jr PO Box 4342 Fairview NM 87533. duranjr71 at yahoo Thank you.

Unfortunately, most of the people here at help.com are so poor ourselves that we cannot pay attention! Sorry mate. Good luck.

I know it may be difficult to walk, but you need to get back to work. My friend just wrecked his motorcycle and wrecked so badly they almost amputated his leg. Now, a little over a month later he’s already back working on his ‘gimp’ leg.

If you slipped on ice while delivery mail (I assume USPS) then you are entitled to a Worker’s comp claim…if you put the claim in and get denied…hire an attorney or contact your state insurance department and file a complaint.

Help.com does not give out money…we just share the wisdom we have learned along the way.

(PS I am a litigation specialist for a large insurance company so I know a thing or two about the business after 22 years…so if you want help with that just ask).

If you work for the post office then you already have insurance also sick leave, Workman’s comp not to mention other benefits that I have no idea of. So I am going to say that something is not adding up in your post. If you need a loan go through the credit union where your employer has their account. Trying to get a loan over the Internet sounds like you are looking for a free handout that you are not going to pay back. Hope this helps :-)
