I can’t get my eye drops in!

I have an eye infection and I need to put eye drops in every day. Whenever I try, I miss my eye or blink. It’s really frustrating… advice?

here’s what you need to do: till your head back, close your eye (but not tight), let one drop fall into the inside corner of your eye and then open slowly. do as many times as you need for the number of drops prescribed.

look in a mirror. left eye…tilt your head to the right. keep looking at your eyes. apply the drops to the left corner of your left eye. right eye…tilt your head to the left. the trick is to not watch the drop hit your eye.

I’m a doctor and I would seriously advise you not to put your drops in the corner of your eye. Why - because thatis where the tear ducts are and putting drops there will lessen the effect. what you do is pull the bottom eye lid down ever so slightly creating a small pocket, hold the nozzle 3/4 of an inch above the pocket and drop the ointment in. then close your eyes gently holding both eyelids together for 10 seconds. make sure you wash you hands before using and never share. If you need to put more than one drop in wait for 2 minutes after the first. If you continue to have eye troubles you may need a stronger anti-biotic eye drop treatment. So consult your doctor. but leave it for 4 weeks until you take this action.

Jess, I have the same problem putting eye drops in my eyes. The advice from Chris seems great and I am going to try it.
