i am scratching my thigh with sissors or a pin or something, kinda like cutting myself, but not bleeding just making sratches.

if my parents take me to the hospital to get help, will the hospital keep me there, like admit me (im 18), or would they let me or my parents decide whether i stay or not?

This is something you need to talk about with your psycologist, hurting yourself hurts the people that love you to

i know it hurts them, thats why i didnt tell them about it.
last time, i guess like two weeks ago, i did the same thing and told my psycologist about it…and we talked about it which is good i guess.
im just worried if i tell my parents, then they will take me to the hospital, and i wont be able to leave

well, do you want to stop doing this? This is something you are doing in response to stress. Think about other ways to release the stress you are feeling. You may want to take a walk, or another great comfort is a pet, do you have one?

Your psychologist would hospitalize you if he/she thought it was necessary.

Well you are loved, so you will need to take the necessary steps to protect yourself from yourself. People want what is best for you, as I am sure your family does as well. Do speak to your psycologist soon.

I used to cut myself all the time too, i was A3, now I’m only A5.
I find playing games like ‘hide and slash’ or ‘follow the leader then stab him in the neck with a screw driver’ really helps when i feel down.
If they don’t work, i try playing ‘duck, duck, run for cover’ and then i let one rip. better when someone else is there as its boring sniffing your own farts.
hope this helps

hey. i do this too. i get a pin and scratch myself on my belly when i’m feeling upset. i always hate myself afterwards as i feel like a coward, like a failure, that i’m only making scratches and that i’m not making myself bleed. the marks fade away after a while. i’m not depressed and i don’t see a psychologist, like you though, i don’t have any real problems. i’m just a snot-nosed school girl who needs to be reminded of her place in life. but my question is, do the scratches really count as self harm? at what level of hurting yourself does it become deemed as ’self mutilation’?
