I think everything these days has a warning on to keep away from the eyes, it is mainly just a routine warning to cover the manufactures back if something does happen.
Vasaline is quite tame though to I think if you got it in you eyes once or twice it wouldn’t harm them but I wouldn’t go putting it in your eyes on purpose.

The stinging I remember may have been some additives (scents or something.) But you could clog your tear ducts and never be able to cry again :(

Also, since it’s oily, you could get blemishes near your eyes from it…the skin around the eyes is 25% less thick than the skin anywhere. I had a friend who used it and ended up having pimples on her eyes. It was bad; minor surgery to remove them. And it was apparently from using the vaseline around her eyes…….

I have had an extremely low income and couldn ‘t afford the 10.00 dollars to buy eye ointment, which is made of vaseline and mineral oil, so I used plain unsented vaseline in my eyes, maybe 2-to5 times aday. . No bad results yet, but long terms effect of putting an oil product in my eyes is what concerns me. Any answers?

Well. The ordinary vaseline/petrolium jelly I use has only one ingrediens which is: petrolatum……….. It’s on my eyes right now and it doesn’t sting at all. BUT if you use vaseline as in vaseline lotion og vaseline with other ingredients in it other than petrolatum, then I certainly wouldn’t use it.
