How can I totally forget about something?

Something has been bothering me for over a year now, and I just haven’t been able to forget about it.

ur thinking too much maybe
get urself into some activity
if u can, face whatever/ whoever is in ur mind
if u cannot, just move on, make a firm resolve
to never ever think abt him/ her/ it

* i know the feeling, promise!
sometimes it is w/ the feeling of guilt, wat ifs, etc.
but then again, i simply have to move on w/ life.
and so be it.

Sometimes just accepting you can’t change your past is enough to help you move on. replace the thought with a better one - as soon as it pops in your head decide to think about what you would do if you won the lottery…Look into brain training / psycology.

My “best friend” recently started ignoring me. The way i try to forget her iz i surround myself with other people, and not let my mind wander. if i have nothing 2 do, i play my gamez or i ride my bike 4 milez. if u focus on something else, soon enough you won’t remember what thiz person lookz like, and feel no connection with thiz person. it also workz if you’re trying 2 forget an embarassing moment. if it’z a person ur trying 2 forget, tell ur friendz that you’d rather not talk about thiz person n e more. if the person approachez u, talk 2 some 1 else in the group. if ur alone, you’re more likely 2 think about thiz person. i’ve only been doing thiz 4 about a week, but i’ve had much difference.
ps. try talking 2 ppl who don’t know thiz person or what happened
i hope thiz helpz ^-^

Memory is based on priority. The more something is to you the more you remember it. For insatnce you wouldn’t remember waht your friend ate2 days ago…you could but you’ll have to try hard. Focus on something important such as God and meditate on that. Give the unanted unwanted thought least priority. Anytime it sneaks on you say “You are not important” “Whatever!” “That’s the past”. Just don’t pay it any mind if it slips int o your mind just refocus on the “Important” thought.
WHATEVER you do…Do NOT try to “forget” the thought…it gives it energy. Try to remember another thought and ignore the troublesome thought completely. It also helps if you accept that the thought/event already happened and it is in the past. And try to relax and engage in some activity.
