Where were you?

I don’t think you will be weak. The lemon, the cayenne, and the maple syrup have nutrients you need. Do you have the book? How long are you going to do it?
It’s a colon cleanser. I’m not 100% sure how they work, but they have been used for years… only recently enjoying mainstream popularity. But the idea is to get rid of the crap (literally) and leave you in a better position to absorb the nutrients that you need.
As an athlete, you probably have a higher caloric intake than average people should, so it is possible you will feel weaker while doing this. Maple syrup may be high in calories, but not enough to make up for an athlete’s meals for the day. Good luck with it!
this one is good, I did it.
You’re an athlete? Base your health decisions on science, not quackery.
Here’s what medical doctors have to say about it:

The Master Cleanse isn’t a gallbladder flush though … It’s a form of fasting, which is a practice that has gone on for centuries in this world.
I don’t care how many people endorse it, it’s so not a good idea to live on water, lemon juice, cayenne pepper and maple syrup for ten days. It’s starving yourself. Period.

I’m planning on doing it for maybe 10 days? I don’t have the book but i’ve done alot of research online. Have you done it?
The Master Cleanse is pseudoscience nonsense. It’s the same basic principle as the liver flush. The idea that you have to supplement the processes your body evolved over millions of years with some bull poo that a naturopathic quack came up with in the 60s is total nonsense.
No athlete of any significant caliber does this kind of nonsense. Stick to the fundamentals. A good, varied diet and plenty of exercise.

No, I did one for 10 days that wasn’t really fasting, but I took various products including psyllium and oxygen and lots and lots of fresh apple juice with rice protein in it, and just plain, and a series of colonics. It was fabulous!!!! Afterwards, when I first saw cooked food, I went, “ohhhhh.” I felt sorry for it, being dead. :)

Rather a conservative and uptight attitude isn’t it? So the people from all countries who’ve been fasting for centuries are ******* idiots are they, including sages and yogis and naturopaths (”quacks” to you). Jeez Louise. Lighten up and get educated!

Athletes NEED carbs and calories. I don’t recommend it…

Not to mention protein, or you start losing muscles.

That’s pretty funny. Science. It works for a reason. Get educated? Really? Should I just latch on to every half-baked idea that passes me by like you do, or should I realize that the scientific process is as rigorous as it is for a reason.
You know what else they had for centuries? Slavery. In India, they still have a caste system that systematically discriminates, as it has for millenia, against people based on which family they were born in.
But, yeah, I’m sure they’re totally right on that one, too.

Exactly. Athletes need calories in large amounts to maintain a high level of performance. If you’re serious about athletic performance, you should only be doing things that enhance your strength, speed, power, and flexibility.
Ask your coach. Ask your doctor.
