WoW Connection Issue

5-01-09:
I’ve been on WoW for a week at a relatives house on my computer, its fast and performed fine, then i come home today, set my computer up, connect wirelessly to the ‘net, enter my username and password into the WoW login screen, that’s where the problem starts, it takes 5 minutes to get to HANDSHAKING and then to SUCCESS and so on, when i EVENTUALLY get on to my characters and enter the realm (Steamwheedle) with my main, it’s technically laggy..I typed something outloud and nothing appeared, I began to run and no lag at all it was great, then 5 minutes later the thing i typed pops up as well as all the other small actions that didnt respond 5 minutes ago, I was on 7880MS and 40FPS. Im praying it’s Blizzards fault and will be sorted by tommorow, but if not, what should I do?

post on the WoW official forums. You can usually get help from that within an hour. I’m not sure what the problem is though.

yep it sound like a connection problem to the wow server it used to happen to me if you are using a router for your internet connection as you mention it was wireless that you have to setup the ports to play read this ::

A software firewall is an application installed on the computer or provided by the Operating System that actively blocks communication between the computer and the Internet. World of Warcraft requires that port 3724 is open. The Blizzard Downloader requires that ports 3724 and 6112 are open. It can also benefit from having ports 6881 through 6999 open. Important note: Modifying your firewall settings may reduce the security of the computer it affects
