I left the iron my shirt which was on my countertop and now there is a brown iron shaped mark on it and my lease is almost up, help!
!! I always iron up there and this time I made a mistake and forgot it after I was distracted. The type of countertop is hard to explain. It has a sandy feel and appearance. It is grey with speckles of other colors. I imagine it is some type of textured paint applied with an airbrush or something. OH MY how can I fix this? My apartment complex is always looking to charge you with something, anything. They will have a fricken field day with this one.

Put a chopping board over it?
Eventually I think you might have to own up to the mistake :P or find a specific company that DO airbrush faded/broken countertops?
It’s a very strange paint..like textured sand
I want to fix it myself and I am hoping to find someone who does it or something.
Have an accidental fire in the apartment and then blame it on the fire?

“accidental” you know what I mean? ;)
lol. It is so perfectly shaped like an iron though…=(
yeah, finding a professional is the only thing I can think of!
Sometimes DIY stores have this ‘match paint’ thingy, but you wouldn’t have the right texture. Try looking for this like spray paint thing, it comes with a sandy texture too, it’d just be the colour thats the problem! I donno! I’d just browse the DIY store and ask for assistance!
there is textured paint like that you can buy
forgot its name, but the shiuld have it at like menards or home depot

yep I might have to go up to the home depot and ask for assistance. If I can do it right, it will be better than the apartment complex charging me.

Do you have to buy an expensive sprayer?

i dont think so
cool! There may be hope. Geez I have been having some bad luck lately!
yay! I tried to look it up on the Lowes website, but no luck. Do you know if they carry it?
Littlenick is right . . . you can buy the textured paint. Go to Home Depot and talk to an associate in the paint department. You probably won’t find it online.
P.S. A little sand plus paint = textured paint!
Thanks everyone. I really hope I can work this out. =/
Good luck. There is wisdom in a multitude of council, ask a few people at Home Depot, maybe try Lowes, too!
just brush it with varnish and it will bew as new… just that easy
perhaps Honest is the best pollicy. Try going to them before the lease is up and ask how they would like you to fix it. You’ll be able to please them while still taking care of it yourself so you’ll probably save money and tey will be the ones resposible for thei decision. just get things in writing in case thet try to get you if it doesn’t work.
I used to work in a DIY store.I advise not going to those big brands, but just your local diy store. They will be more enthusiastic to help and will gladly order it in asap it they don’t have it.bigger stores won’t as they’ll only order it in when they need thousands or more. Showntuem a pic of the countertop with the stain and they’ll be guaranteed to know an answer.
Looks like I have a project to tackle!

I live in a complex nicknamed “hellsgate apartments” They are horrible!!! If you back in (not allowed) they charge $50 fine. If you get a pet and then roll on up to the office to pay the $200 pet fee stated on the lease at the top, you’ll soon realize that the 200 is accompanied with another $300 deposit. Don’t worry it is on one of the 17 pages of the lease. Also hamsters, gerbils and mice are all allowed as pets. So I bring home my cute little white rats from the lab I work at(I saved em! =)) and I get an eviction notice on the door a week later. Rats are NOT allowed, but other rodents are. WTF?
