1500 is good i think. wow 105 i wish i was 105! i’m 16, 5′6 and 119. =[ you’re so luckyyyyy
you are absoulutely scientificly perfect!!! now go celebrate
This is something you really should ask your doctor. Most healthy people eat 2,000 calories a day, but this varies from person to person. Look for a health website. Some of them have something like a “calorie calculator” that may be useful to you. Overall, it’s not how many calories you eat (unless you’re starving or stuffing yourself), but the nutrition you get from your food. Exercise is a good idea no matter how much you eat.
Also, to the first person who answered: your weight is perfectly normal. In fact, it’s great! Try not to worry so much. Remember, you’re 4 inches taller than the poster, and that adds on pounds. You definitely should NOT be 105 lbs. Being underweight can be just as unhealthy and unsightly as being overweight.
HELLOOOOOOO? You are VERY under weight and should not way 105!!!
Shoosh WillaTree. I checked, and her BMI is 19.2. That’s my BMI, and it’s healthy. She is not underweight.
The best way to approach it from a self diagnosis view is to break down how much protein and carbs and fat you need for your weight. Also, in order for your exercise to really be effective it needs to be at least three times a week.
If you want to look at calories in a rough fashion use from 16 to 19 kcals/pound. So 105 lbs = 1,680 to 1,995.
How do you feel? How is your complexion and energy level? Are you losing weight?
NO, she isn’t. Stop telling her that. A healthy BMI is 18.5 - 24.9. Granted, she is toward the lower end of the scale, and she should certainly not try to lose weight, but that’s not a bad thing. She’s fine the way she is, so leave her alone.
And thanks indiediskochick. I don’t know if I’m wise, but I might better be described as “knowledgeable”, at least in this subject. (Again, to the poster, I am not an expert - you should still consult your doctor. You and he know your body better than I ever could from an online post.)
Oh, sorry, the first part of my last post was meant for correcting WillaTree.
cool
Hooray for cookies and cream! Another good point.
The only other thing to say is dont consult the doctor, go to a Registered Dietitian.
Most doctors can understand basic nutrition, cccollins. If she has any unusual or serious health problems, though, you may be right and it may be best to see a registered dietitian. However, she should only do this AFTER seeing her regular doctor. The doctor may be able to refer her to a better dietitian for her anyway.
Man why do so many people focus so much on their weight? To the poster just be happy with yourself because you are still really young. Wait until you get older then see how much fun you’ll have trying to keep your current body. :-) I sometimes wish they had never invented television and other media because since that day to this people’s opinions of themselves has gotten worse and worse. Just be yourselves and enjoy your lives. Stop counting caleries and carbs and fat and whatever new “diet” concept they come up with next. Just enjoy your short lives to the fullest. Because one day it will end. Do you want to know you wasted your entire lives measuring your waist line? If you are happy and healthy then what else matters? Love yourself for being you not for trying to be someone else.
Again, hooray to khyron32! Although, I don’t think it’s a bad thing to want to eat healthily, as long as it’s not an obsessive thing. Maybe I went too far suggesting she see a dietitian, but if she’s so unsure about what she should be eating, it might be best to have her fears ended with a trip to the doctor (who will most likely tell her she’s fine anyway).
My advice to you is to not worry about how many calories you need. Eat when your body tells you you’re hungry, don’t starve yourself. Just don’t eat french fries, fast food, etc. everyday and you’ll be fine. I’m 5′6 and 105 pounds, and trust me I would rather weigh 50 pounds than be worrying about calories, fat content and food all day like I am.
*50 more I meant to say. ha
