Girls - she made me cookies, does that mean anything?

I’ve got a good friend who happens to be a girl. We’ve known each other for many years now and have been flirting back and forth to each other. We got together one day around Christmas and she gave me some cookies, saying she made too many for her family. Is that a flirting tool you girls use, like she wants the friendship taken to the next level, or was she just being friendly?

Could be both, it’s hard to tell.

Scenario #1: She wanted an excuse to make you cookies, so she just said that about making too many. She wanted to make you something without it being awkward. In this case, she does like and and it was “flirting”.

Scenario #2: She actually made too many cookies and she thought you would like them. In this case, it was most likely friendly.

Either way, she does like you, and though you would enjoy the cookies. I does really depend on the context for analyzing girl’s moves in these cases.

Good luck!

Well even if she HAD baked too many, the fact that she went out of her way to give them to you is significant. She easily could have given the cookies to a girlfriend, or just eaten them herself, but no, she gave them to you.

I think that this depends on how much she likes baking.

In this case, I would ignore the cookies because they could, as mentioned above, be either a sign of just being friends or a sign that she wants more.

You’d be best looking for other signs.

This isn’t a clear indicator of either option.

I give cookies to everyone at Christmas. If you like her, though, tell her.

I would say that she probably has a thing for you. I’ve used that excuse a few times myself about having too many left over when really I made extras on purpose. :)

I once tried to make two pumpkin pies and ended up with four, plus extra filling that I didn’t have crust for. Extras happen.
