Usually you can find sewing needles that come in a pack anywhere like walgreens or cvs, you want to find the thicker ones, match it up to your hoop and see if its bigger if not that I suggest getting a smaller gauge. Be careful tho because safety pins and sewing needles can break ( tho mine never did ), usually what I do because generally when we are working with a hoop it’s hard to hurry put it in without closing, now this is just an option, what I do is let the needle sit there for a few, and than switch to the hoop. You can numb it with ice, ice is your friend, ice takes down the swelling and pain. Now for cleaning it, it will get crusty, just use mouthwash ( listerine the yellow kind ) and wash your face with an anti-bacterial soap. Also trust me for a week it will be swollen and get irrated. I have done over 34 people’s piercings, and I have done all mine myself (except tounge), which does include the monroe ( which is like the lip, but I have done other’s lips ), and no ones and not even mine have gotten infected. Also be sure that when you use the needles you rub rubbing alchohol on it to disinfect it.

how long do you keep the ice there? and i used rubbing achol last night, so at least i did one thing right :3
do you have a trick to do it relle fast? or faster? i was trying to keep my mind off it and i got it half way then i was kinda like “omfg omfg omfg -heart beat uber loud/fast-”

I used to be a piercer. Look rubbing alcohol doesn’t sterilize anything well enough to put into your blood stream. Safety pins and sewing needles are usually a cheap metal coated with some kind of chrome. You can get serious poisoning from these metals into your blood stream.
If you don’t have an infection then it would hurt to touch because you have trauma to the area. A piercing needle is hollow and cuts a hole which is safer and causes less trauma than an object being forced in there and ripping skin and muscle apart to get through.
If you have early stage infection a piercer can tell you how to care for this area before you need to tell your parents and go to the doctor.
Do not wash a wound with anti-bacterial soap, use SEA SALT/water (not table salt) mixture. Listerine inside mouth is good idea.

keep it there til it feels numb,to do it faster put both of your thumbs on the tip of the needle, with your other fingers hold your lip and just press really hard, yeah piercings needles are much easier to go through, ut if we are working with a safety pin or sewing needle your going to need more pressure, just keep thinking how good your going to look with your piercing and no piercing is a piercing without some kind of pain, and that should sorta take your mind off of it.
