no. You have to actually add them as a friend yourself. Looking up someone email just comes up as a serch result

yes but then if they are sent an email are they accepted as your friend?

They will not become your friend until they have accepted your Add Friend request.

So once you select “Add Friend” then they will be sent an acceptance email

it makes sense but i was just wondering because i added someone completely horrible and i dont want them to be bugging me but one more quick question i have to add them even if i asked them for an email invitation to join facebook even if they have it? sorry and thanks for some help!!
