Here are two perspectives

1. Science
Your brain could be misfiring somehow due to something biological in your brain, or something to do with how your brain functions and what you have been exposed to during the day to cue a memory of music. There are people who see colours when they hear sound, so perhaps you hear sound when you think of something in particular.
If seizures can cause a person’s body to move, perhaps a certain kind of seizure could cause music to play in your head.

2. Spiritual
Depending on your beliefs, you could be picking up on some kind of message, some music from somewhere or something.

Perhaps you could try thinking of other things, feeling other emotions and see if that affects the music in your head.

It’s not normal to hear hallucinatorily realistic music while falling asleep … I think it’s a confusion of waking-sleeping-dreaming states — for me that has happened only in times of heavy stress, for another guy on this site it indicated to him that he was going crazy or having religious experiences.

You could let your doctor know if it bothers you. Your doctor could conduct tests to determine if it is a symptom of something or if it’s nothing to worry about.

Just hearing music is normal — hence all the catchy jingles on television commercial. Your inner “replayer might be more devloped or active. But realistic imaginings where you can’t tell if it is sense or imagination can be confusing.

Whether there is a scientific or other explanation for this, it helps to record your experience, date and time, what was happening at the time of the event and how you were feeling. Whether you see your doctor or a priest, logging your observations can help you figure out what is wrong, as well as a solution.

This might explain it for you:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypnagog…

I’ve experienced a couple of the things listed on that page. I’ve heard original songs in my head before, but I usually forget how they go, since it happens as I’m falling asleep.

I have also heard music in my head since I was 12 years old. I am now 51. They come and go so I wouldn’t let it get to you. I usually turn on the TV for a half hour and then go back to bed and it is gone by that time. I sometimes hear voices like a TV in another room. I am a empath clairovoyant so I have always associated these sounds to my abilities. I would ask yourself if you may have some type of psyhic ability.

I don’t think you are going crazy. I would be glad to answer or assist in any questions regarding your experiences.

i started to hear music a few days ago. first it was some kind of whistle then na na na rock music ending in piano.

before this i was getting random images of the past and having them changed a little. sort of like a parallel universe.
