Dogs cannot eat chocolate, candy, or peanuts. They don’t digest them. It clogs up their intestines and their colon and they can die!

Chocolate is bad for dogs. So are grapes and raisins. You can give them that artificial chocolate, I think it’s called carob or something.

Had a dog who got more excited at the sight of a satsuma more than anything else, didn’t even have to peel if for her - did that herself. Whether it was intrinsically bad for her, I don’t know - but had she been a human she would have been in psychotherapy (but not cause she ate satsumas…)

Technically they CAN, but it’s really really unhealthy for them.

Dogs can eat chocolate, but it’ll end up killing them! It’s best just to keep their food simple and natural. They can eat things like rice, pasta, chicken (give it to them raw if it still has bones), lamb, pork, fish, most vegetables (they love carrots!) and some fruit like apples. They don’t like citrus fruits, and although I hadn’t heard of problems with grapes and raisins, I’d be inclined to believe jcd.

Raisins and grapes can damage their kidneys and cause acute renal failure.

Chicken bones shatter easily, best not to give them to dogs.

Fatty Meats

If you think the best way to a dog’s heart is through food, think again. Foods high in fat — such as the table scraps that we humans cut away from our meats — can cause canine pancreatitis and gastroenteritis, serious and potentially fatal conditions. Pancreatitis or inflammation of the pancreas can result in a complete loss of appetite, frequent vomiting, diarrhea that may contain blood, weakness and abdominal pain (apparent through whimpering and restlessness). The reactions can range from barely noticeable to a severe shock-like collapse that can result in death. These conditions can occur after raids on garbage cans, also. Gastroenteritis is inflammation of the stomach and intestinal linings and has similar symptoms. These cases often require hospitalization and fluid replacement.

Onions

Many table scraps also contain onion that can be toxic for a dog, especially smaller pooches. Onions can cause hemolytic anemia, a condition that destroys a dog’s red blood cells, according to Dr. Kathy Michel of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. An onion-poisoned dog will become lethargic, develop breathing difficulties and will have pale gums (check around the teeth). Fortunately, the toxins will pass through the dog’s system, but until then, he or she may need a blood transfusion. If you cook dog food at home, hold the onions.

Chocolate

It may seem like the best treat of all, but it can be deadly. All chocolate, with its caffeine and related chemical called theobromine, can raise your dog’s heart rate to beat abnormally. It can cause seizures that will eventually lead to a coma. Baking or dark chocolate is the deadliest — about nine times more toxic than milk chocolate. A chocolate-poisoned pooch will vomit, urinate more than usual, have diarrhea, and show hyperactivity.

Question: Is Turkey bad for dogs?

Best answer says: yes, don’t feed dogs any meats, ham, chicken, turkey, steak….They should only get dog food period. Even if they don’t respond with diarrhea now when they get older it will and they can get very sick and even die from irritable bowel syndrome.

Other answers: Turkey bones are bad for dogs, but not turkey meat.

any kind of cooked meat is fine as long as its fully cooked and doesnt contain any bones the dog will be fine

Basically, any type of human food isn’t really all that good for dogs (although the dogs love it!) but people still feed their dogs people food anyways, as long as you don’t feed him a whole lot, and you keep the boes away form him, then yes, it’s perfectly fine, just make sure you watch the dog, because i frined of mine’s dog was eating people food, and he took too big a piece, and it got stuck in his throat, thank goodness hes ok, but just be wary of your dog when its eating people food!
Hope this helps!

Unlike chicken bones, which splinter and are bad for dogs, turkey drumsticks are actually tough enough to take some gnawing. As for the meat, it’s absolutely good for them, but the tryptophan may make them want to take a nap with the football game on TV . . . . . . . no, wait, that’s me!

No, turkey is not bad for dogs. In fact, chicken and turkey are good for animals when the are not feeling well or as something light for them to eat after surgery, usually put with rice in these cases.

No, turkey is fine. It is the second ingredient on the dog kibble I feed, Canidae..

not a good idea but once in awhile it is ok

Keep the bones away from him, but the cooked meat is fine

No, although smoked may be too salty

(Sorry for the spam, I just like to be thorough)

Yes. Dogs can eat chocolate. Dogs can eat everything if they want to:-)

But should we provide it for them? Nah. Chocolate is toxic. Same goes for rasins and grapes.. There’s much salt and other spices in human food. A dog doesn’t need it..
But if you really wanna give your dog human food; rice & any meat (no bones & no spices) is a good start.. A bit of bread works too.

As mentioned by many above, dogs get upset stomachs if you mess around with their food too much. Believe me. It’s sucky being forced to wake up and take your dog outside 3 am because you gave it your left overs from your dinner earlier in the evening:-(
