Stupidity help: Beliefs are assumptions. - Help.com

This post left anonymously

Beliefs are assumptions.

Assumptions lead to misunderstandings, wars and people thinking they will acquire Britney Spears soul if they stab three knives into the left ear of their neighbour who happens to live at number 13. Discuss.

Shared Reality my friend. Almost everyone will call a chair a chair. The ones who don’t are in mental hospitals.

more like shared agreement. If suddenly all 6 billion agree that the sky is green and grass is blue then it will become so. The physical reality is a mutual agreement of manifested thoughts

some of these replies are rather funny :L
ill just say now assumptions always to misunderstandings, its the way the human mind works, we will never see the truth, we’ll see it how we WANT to see it

It is merely an assumption of yours that assumptions lead to misunderstandings, and although everything is based off statistics and probability which prevents a 100% association of “truth” to anything, there exists most likely circumstances, for instance if I step on the ground there’s a 99.9999999999999999999999999999999999999999% likely-hood that electrostatic forces will keep my foot from going through the floor.

Thus it’s safe for me to believe it will happen the way I think it will, this is no misunderstanding. Others believe in likely events as well, and misunderstandings are simply that, the process of illogical beliefs or beliefs not founded in well enough science.
