Anyone get more depressed when they get on help.com?

i log on and see my friend list dwindling and see that no one has left me a shout in 3 weeks. it’s depressing. i wonder if people forgot about me or if they just don’t care anymore. this place that used to be my security blanket is now a place that just solidifies my negative feelings about myself. i like this pace but maybe i just don’t fit in here. i wonder why people took me off their friends list. did i do something wrong, did i offend them, i don’t know. just some thoughts that were running through my head so i thought i’d post them. hope everyone has a good night.

I wouldn’t worry about it too much, people have lives outside of help.com :)

HI ambrutellow. Help.com is having a whole bunch of inner problems right now. There have been days when the site goes offline for hours at a time. And lately, I try to get on site, and I can be on here for just one minute and my screen goes blank, and I am kicked off of the site. I was beginning to wonder if I had been partially banned or something. Come to find out that it is just Help.com having all sorts of problems.
I do think that a bunch of people have jumped ship, though.
I really doubt that it is anything personal towards you.
I’ve seen you on here and you always seemed to be a very nice person.
So LOL just blame help.com for your doubts, and just find something to do that will make your really happy.
I wish you all the best luck in whatever you do!! :o) edie

I would say it’s harder to make and keep friends on a website than in real life, because communicating via text is limited, and in real life talking to people is so much easier

I agree it is alot harder to keep friends online than in real life. But having said that, I have 3 very close friends that if they walked up to me tomorrow and said Hi, I would have no idea who they were, lol After we had our wreck most of our real life friends seemed to fade away. We have a few that have stuck around and really only one (that isn’t some kind of family) that I know I could count on for anything. The three friends from the cyber world have seen me thru a lot of surgeries and pain filled nites (often getting text msgs at 3am, lol) And if I miss one day of being online they are frantic and I am the same way with them.

I think nowadays people get so wrapped up with problems and day to day living they forget about other people.

Yes this site can be extremely depressing and heartwrenching. I don’t know who all took you off their friend list, but if I was one (which is quite possible because we have been like friends every time we’ve talked) it’s because 1. I’ve taken everyone off over and over, and 2. I can’t handle invitations to suicidal posts (which is how some of your writing seems — I’m sorry if that makes me not a very good friend… but it is too much for me, I need something life-affirming and positive almost nonstop.

Nah it’s not you dude… Help is crazy depressing, and every time I come on I have fewer friends than before. My favorite people don’t even really come online anymore. Help is becoming… Empty. [IMO]

Yeah you guys are right…
Lately I come on here, and the first thing that I notice is that my friends number has decreased by a number or two.
I’ll go through my list to see who dropped out and sometimes can’t even figure out who it is. But it is def dropping.
But there is only one of them in my “Favorites” or “Fans” thing.
They just disappear…..
I guess that it means that they are either getting banned, or they just close their accounts and leave….
Either way, whoa, yeah Help is becoming very tumble weed ridden lately….:o(

Same for me, Edie. I lose friends and sometimes don’t even know which ones… Doesn’t make it any less sad though.

Just do what I do, don’t use the friends list. That way you don’t have to worry about people taking you off of it.

I guess I’m just an unhappy person. That’s why I’m here. It doesn’t make you a bad friend. Most people don’t want to be friends with people who are suffering and have a negative outlook bc of that.

Maybe everyone has left help for the new site

That’s not it at all. It’s the anti-self or anti-life words that I usually hear from people not anywhere near as bad off as me, like suicidal attitudes — I barely survive as is, there’s no way I could make it if I let that sort of thinking get to me. I know you’re really smart, I’ve seen that, I hope you can understand what I’m saying.

I understand what your saying. And you don’t know me at all so it would be impossible for you to be personal, so no need to apologize.

Hello there, i saw you were online an hour ago and so i left you a shout, been a long time since the last i talked with you. Then i discovered this post.

Yes, this place can be heartbreaking at times. Sometimes i don’t feel like i belong here or if others know i exist. Maybe long time ago when people were a bit different i shall say but what can i do, things have changed. People do too. So i managed to come here once in a while, while i study or write stuff in word. OR i join other sites that would get me occupied. Getting this thing as a sole source of friends is not enough. For me. Not anymore.

People have taken me from their friends list too. At first i become a little emotional about it, but i have accepted the fact i cannot change them and the way they think.

Over the past two years, my friends from here moved on with their lives. Some got married, others made their own websites or others disappeared all so suddenly. You could imagine how a clingy person like me react to that.

So it is not you.

And it’s not only you who feel that way.

Me too.

I wish you well.

lilies
