It does seem to be going that way, the site is getting left to degrade all on it’s own even if the admins do pop in from time to time to tell us a pack of lies like they are makeing a new site so no point fixing anything untill the new site is done, well that was months ago and in those months more things have broke but we are told to just put up with it.
Well say they do fix the site, will that be good enough for everyone?
i had that same question a few days ago…i feel so sad about it :(

Lots of people keep leaveing which makes the site feel empty as this place is run by the type of people that come here, when the people change then the site does too, thats only natural and you can not prevent change but sometimes too much change and change that is not done to improve things can leave people feeling empty.

Well, the fact that the people who use the site are what makes it, without people then there is no help.com, people are slowly leaveing and the rate of new people comeing in seems to be less than the amount going so eventually it will get less and less.
The amount of things being posted is less than it was a few weeks ago but because the notices do not work there is no way of knowing that for sure, which I think was the plan all along.
Let’s all goto Cbs headquarters and make a case

That is pretty ridiculos! Not must of a friend at all.
I don’t know how to same help other than being a multi millionair and buying it out, I and many others have made lists of things to improve the site before, asked admins when things will change and whats going on and as usual always given an answer that doesn’t answer anything and then left to just put up with it.
I did get lied to so I find it hard to believe anything now anyway, I asked once about the HTML when it first went, I was told a troll had abused the fuction somewhow and that they had to remove it to cure the issue but it would be back up again soon, I asked again a few weeks after that and I was told that the HTML code was broken and that they were trying to fix it.
Months after that I asked again and that is when I was finally told, by the admin, that he just did not like the HTML function and he wasn’t going to put it back.
I was pissed at that, I mean why make all that **** up, why not just say from the begining that it was removed and not broken??
I know it is only a HTML thingy but what I was annoyed at was the lies rather than a stupid function.

The site is degrading, the admins are being **** and not answering anyone or even helping.

Also, I notice my friends list is going down really quickly but the thing is that if people were removing themselves off my list then they would appear in my fave or fans section and not my friends but they are not, they vanish, so I assume people are being banned at a steady rate and if that is the case then it means there is a md or admin somewhere doing that so why are they not on the site doing stuff to help?

Well it matters to alot of people hence why they all left or leaveing lol but it doesn’t matter to me all that much that is why I am still here and also the many others that are here too.

I would assume the scarcity of users can be classified under several reasons. I’m sure people might be busy with their private lives and cannot afford any leisure time at the moment. Secondly, this site was experiencing technical difficulties on a regular basis which never subsided or got redressed ultimately. Our only active moderator, that was eliminating trolls by the hour was banned for having a sense of humor in our uncensored chatroom. And lets not forget about our noble administrator who never answers our questions and has these sporadic absences. You tell me what you expect from these people when they have to endure deficient site that is governed by an admin whom has pre-determined the path of least resistance.

Well I’m gone and I’m not. I still love the people here, and the reason I came here was to get help and TO help. What I found was the most ragtag community since Rudolf and that dentist elf hit the Island of Misfit Toys. Helping people helps me more than anything. And yes this place is a bit wild, which is okay too. But a large number of regulars have begun doing their socializing on a site built by one of our members. I’m an admin there and make no apologies for joining it, any more than I would for starting a Facebook account. The main differences are that things work there, and that a higher level of mutual respect is expected.
Most of the members there will still be active here I think. This place offers some things that you can’t find anywhere else.. immediate help without giving an email address, randomness and some more stuff I can’t think of right now. This place is crazy, which is part of why I like it. And it’s open to trolls, which is one of the reasons people are fed up. But mainly they’re fed up because the admin here doesn’t answer questions, and has allowed the functionality to deteriorate.
I haven’t noticed the whining about this site to change since I’ve been here, but it is periodic; it is not constant.

Has anyone noticed sifting through the post lately that there are fewer People without avatars, meaning where did everyone go?
Maybe their avatars escaped to the “real world” (place with trees and cars), and the people were so attached to their avatars that they were forced out of PixelVille to the place of fresh air and fleshly hugs, thus solving all their problems, thus nullifying the need to return here.
That’s just a random thought but I’ll believe it till I see an explanation that makes more sense, just so there isn’t another gaping void in my mind.

See, to me the chat section of help.com seems the most useless. Does anyone talk about anything besides video games there? That’s all I hear when I visit it. But if you relate to the people in help.com chat and have formed bonds, then that’s why it seems good to you. For many of the older members here, we have felt we were helping others and I know I have used help.com instead of other online social networks. We make friends more in the posts, where the convo can be more complex than one-liners. Personally I’ve gotten a bit burned out on helping the serious depression cases, so the other site offers a break from that and has people I’ve grown to know.
Well, I was really meaning the other ning website, from my understand it was made for help chat people for when help chat lags or the site dies…which happens alot. We always go somewhere else when that happens, I’m glad someone got the idea to make a site to it, now we gots somewhere permanent to goto when help chat dies or lags
Trust if i’m in there and Their talking about video’s games, I will try my best to silence them, I hate video games, except WII, WII rocks
But Anyone is free to roam to wherever I just wish everyone would stay here and we can all be jolly again, this whole starting new sites has started wars, wait thats my other post hehehe I closed that and change the subject, I am done for the night on the matter, I’m going to start fresh tomorrow and forget about it, I have friends on there, its ok I won’t hate them because their there, whatever makes you happy is dandy with me, just don’t leave me stranded alone here at help.com all by wee self

Sounds to me like a truce is needed. Both groups have an alternate site and I don’t know of any who have said they’ll just leave this place. You won’t be alone here. Now if YOURABI would just fix what’s broken or put up help 2.0 it would be great. Or at least let us know what’s going on. Lack of info leads to frustration. Sheesh, now I’ll prolly get banned for typing his name in all caps.

It worked, help was down for about 5 hours and the hard-core regulars who normally panic and cause massive chaos hardly even noticed. :)

The most recent reason why is that I keep studying comprehension and reading comprehension, and I keep remembering how you comprehend things so well but don’t write grammatically perfectly like all the examples and it’s very good for me to remember in thinking about comprehension.

Idk. Didn’t affect me at all. Cause there are still nice, kind and caring people left here, enough to make help.com still a wonderful, helpful site! So I don’t notice who left/ not.
I come here lots. But I always post as a visitor under different names coz I like being anonymous. I would be so upset if this place went.
They just need to make it LOOK better. Millions of people must type ‘help’ into their search engines, or try ‘help.com’. That’s how I found it. But people will take one look and head elsewhere if it doesn’t look like an active well-run site. So sad. It would only take a day’s work to get the place looking tidy again.

Has anyone noticed sifting through the post lately that there are fewer People without avatars, meaning where did everyone go?
Just because Help is having a few problems (OK a lot) and seem to last forever, does that mean we should just leave the place where we all first came when we needed help? Hell, I haven’t even noticed many troll’s lately, where did they go?
