Anywho how can i convince myself to just do it!?! And whats a good swimming cap?

Well, I can’t swim, but I imagine you just get in the water and splash around till you get in the groove of it…

Get a silicon swim cap, those are the best.
Not sure how i can help you with this, i’ve been swimming competitively since i was seven, and i don’t think i’ve ever known what it was like to be afraid to swim.
Just get in the water, and stay close to the wall.
Don’t be afraid to breath out of your nose. :)

Ah, so join the swim team at your school or at your local recreation center.
Don’t worry about your skill level, everyone has to start somewhere!

Im in college so im going to start this class they offer at the gym on campus. But there is this one problem they have HUGE glass surrounding the pool so everyone can look while you swim. I was in great denial but thats why im so terrified. I tried not to care but i do…

oh don’t worry about it. Don’t let your nerves keep you from doing something that you want to do!
only creepers just stand and watch you while you’re trying to swim.

First you sit on the steps in the water and just chill, get used to having water around you. Then stand up and start walking around the shallow end, then start moving your arms in the breaststroke pattern as you walk. Gradually start to take your feet off the bottom of the pool in little spurts and then for long and longer and before you know it…you’ll be swimming again! Try to go to the pool when there are few people there if you don’t want people to see you! But the idea is to chill…..and breathe of course! :D

Just jump in the pool and get used to the water. Horse around until you are comfortable with the water. Float in the water for some time. Siliocn swim caps are the best but they are hard to put on but you’ll get used to it…

You could get yourself a nice swim wear and matching swim gears so that you’d be excited enough not to back out with your swimming lessons

my dad used the sink or swim method.

threw me off a bridge into a lake, I obviously made the right choice by swiming. I still have nightmares.

No one is interested in what you look like whilst swimming and if they are it is for like a nano second and then they move onto the next person… Don’t let that stop you…. Swimming is great exercise… it’s fun and can be social… and just think one day you might just need to use the ability to swim to save yourself or someone else so go for it.

Well don’t be conscious about yourself. Don’t mind what people would think of you cause you’re not doing anything wrong. Just go out there and have fun while learning to swim. That’s what’s important…not what people would say about you. People who talk bad about peole have ntohing else better to do and these persons are way below your level so never stoop on them. Be confident. Chin up.

I’m so happy to hear that you’re gonna start soon. Just so I could push you into swimming, I was planning on pretending to drown so that you’ll be forced to swim and save me. haha. I’m kidding.

Did you buy swimming goggles too?

Wow. I’m so proud of you. I’m sure you’re having fun while you learn. You might even be diving and doing sommersaults in no time.

So what swimming stroke are you learning now?
